COURSE OVERVIEW

This course will initially alter and explore different un dyed fabrics, using a variety of techniques including devore, manipulation and some stitch.

This collection will then undergo a transformation by the selective addition of printed and dyed colour, using Procion Mx, enabling students to create their own unique colourful collection.

Once fully processed these fabrics will be further enhanced towards a personal collection maybe using further printing, dyeing or stitch as the course progresses.

Students will be advised be bring a carefully selected collection of undyed (non synthetic) fabrics and threads, for the exploration of different stitched and manipulative techniques as well as the use of Procion Mx dye for both printing and direct application.
