4th-11th September - Charlotte Ardizzone RWS NEAC
Charlotte trained at St Martin's School of Art and has been a professional painter all her life. She regularly exhibits at the Royal Academy Summer Show and has work in both public and private collections around the world. She has taught in art schools and on luxury cruise ships and is the niece of the much loved children's book illustrator, Edward Ardizzone.
She is a member of the New English Art Club and the Royal West of England Academy.
Charlotte is continually inspired by this beautiful corner of France, and has been a resident here during the summer months for almost 20 years.
Charlotte very much enjoys teaching, and has devised a semi-structured course tailored to suit artists of all levels, including complete beginners, designed to optimise your progress throughout the week.
Initially drawing and painting within the confines of Studio Preniac, then on location in nearby villages and in the countryside, Charlotte will concentrate on helping you develop your drawing and painting skills.
Charlotte is experienced in all painting mediums, including acrylics, watercolour and oils and is equally at home with landscape, interiors, still life, and abstract work.
Charlotte employs a range of teaching styles, working with the group as a whole as well as one to one. She will set both individual and group tasks that will stretch students, allowing for tangible progress and for each individual to gain the most from their experience.
At the end of each day Charlotte will lead a very positive but informal group critique, which will allow students to reassess their work and continue to make further progress.
Testimonials
"Our time at Studio Preniac was just perfect. It all ran so
smoothly, I loved every minute. The company was stimulating and we all gelled
beautifully, creating a lovely atmosphere. Preniac is a little paradise, an
artist's dream, with a painting around every corner. Charlotte was so good at
goading and cajoling us to speed up, she is a terrific person and I really
liked her approach. The food was delicious, imaginative and innovative, when are
you applying for Michelin status?
The balance between working and site seeing was just right, the Bastide villages
are stunning and I'm already hankering after coming back.
A huge vote of thanks to you both."
Gillian C Leics.
"There is always a risk when choosing a holiday without recommendation
but I can honestly say that all our expectations were met and far exceeded by Liz and
Bill our hosts, for one of the best holidays we have ever had.
Liz, who provided superb tuition, listened carefully to what we wanted to achieve and set
tasks which gave opportunities to experience new areas of interest and build up our skill
levels in both painting and textiles.
Bill catered for our every need and provided what can only be described as a home
from home family atmosphere. Add to this the beautiful scenery of the Lot and I think
no one should fail to return home full of praise and admiration."
David and Stella M, Norwich.
"I had a fantastic time with you and wish to thank you for all
your generosity and hard work. I look forward to next year and hope that I can
come again."
Margaret H, Llangollen.
"Thank you both very much for looking after me so well, I
thoroughly enjoyed myself. You managed to get the balance just right, very
comfortable accommodation, stimulating tuition, excellent catering and knowledge of
the area. I will be checking your course dates for next year."
Pauline H, Suffolk.
"I would like to say a big thank you to you both for such a
wonderful experience. Many, many thanks."
